Competent Rescuer Course
The Competent Rescuer course is designed for anyone who is working at heights that is responsible for the fall protection rescue program, or immediate supervisors of authorized rescuers. This course is designed to give all students the knowledge base to utilize pre-engineered rescue equipment and techniques for safe and timely rescues. Students will be required to actively participate in practical rescue scenarios. Prerequisite: Competent Person.
Topics covered:
Fall hazard elimination and control measures
Applicable fall protection and rescue regulations
Assessment of fall hazards to determine rescue methods
The responsibilities of designated persons under the standards
Detailed inspection and recording of rescue equipment components and systems
Rescue system assessments and determining when a system is unsafe
Development of a written fall protection rescue procedures
The selection and use of non-certified anchorages
This course includes both classroom and hands on activities, including both a written and practical exam. Upon completion of the course each student will be provided a certificate and wallet card acknowledging that they successfully completed the competent person course that meets and exceeds the OSHA and ANSI requirements for training.
Course Length- 2 Days, 16 Hours
Course Hours are 8am-4:30pm at our training facility located at 670 Allendale Dr. Port Allen, La 70767.
Lunch will be provided from 11:30-12:00.
Dress code for training is safety toed shoes, long pants and short sleeve shirt.
Equipment will be provided for the hands on activities, but please bring gloves.
