Competent Person Trainer
The Competent Person Trainer course is designed for someone who will be delivering in house fall protection training. This course is designed to give all students the knowledge base to identify hazards both existing and potential and how to mitigate those hazards, as well as teaching techniques, both classroom and practical.
Topics covered:
- Fall hazard elimination and control measures
- Applicable fall protection regulations
- Fall hazard surveys and fall protection procedures
- The responsibilities of designated persons under the standards
- Detailed inspection of equipment components and systems
- Fall protection system assessments and determining when a system is unsafe
- Fall protection rescue procedures with extensive hands on scenarios
- The selection and use of non-certified anchorages
- Developing lesson plans, and understanding learning objectives
- Skills in adult education methods
This course includes both classroom and hands on activities, including both a written and practical exam. Upon completion of the course each student will be provided a certificate and wallet card acknowledging that they successfully completed the competent person course that meets and exceeds the OSHA and ANSI requirements for training. Along with program materials.
Course Length- 4.5 Days, 35 Hours
Course Hours are 8am-4:30pm

- Lunch will be provided from 11:30-12:00.
- Dress code for training is safety toed shoes, long pants and short sleeve shirt.
- Equipment will be provided for the hands on activities, but please bring gloves.
