Competent Person Course
The Competent Person course is designed for anyone who is working at heights, decision makers and supervisors who are responsible for answering questions about fall protection. This course is designed to give all students the knowledge base to identify hazards both existing and potential and how to mitigate those hazards.
Topics covered:
Fall hazard elimination and control measures
Applicable fall protection regulations
Fall hazard surveys and fall protection procedures
The responsibilities of designated persons under the standards
Detailed inspection of equipment components and systems
Fall protection system assessments and determining when a system is unsafe
Fall protection rescue procedures
The selection and use of non-certified anchorages
This course includes both classroom and hands on activities, including both a written and practical exam. Upon completion of the course each student will be provided a certificate and wallet card acknowledging that they successfully completed the competent person course that meets and exceeds the OSHA and ANSI requirements for training.
Course Length- 2 Days, 16 Hours
Course Hours are 8am-4:30pm at our training facility located at 670 Allendale Dr. Port Allen, La 70767.
Lunch will be provided from 11:30-12:00.
Dress code for training is safety toed shoes, long pants and short sleeve shirt.
Equipment will be provided for the hands on activities, but please bring gloves.
